His efforts have been crucial in helping individuals secure residence permits, establish businesses, reunite with family members, and overcome the bureaucratic hurdles that often complicate the integration process. Early in his journey, Shyam Shrestha became actively involved with the Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA), गैरआवासीय नेपाली संघ, पोर्चुगल – NRN Portugal, serving as Office Secretary. Over the course of five presidential tenures, he provided vital services such as documentation assistance and legal immigration support, earning the trust and admiration of thousands navigating the complexities of life abroad.
In 2020, Shyam Shrestha founded Golden Cloud Consultancy, a platform dedicated to empowering immigrants from diverse backgrounds. The consultancy offers practical resources including documentation services, legal guidance in collaboration with Portuguese lawyers, and support for navigating Portugal’s bureaucratic systems. His work reflects a deep sense of responsibility toward the Nepali community and a broader commitment to inclusive development.
During times of crisis, Shyam Shrestha has also served the Government of Nepal, assisting with delays in passport renewals and document attestations. He has volunteered with the Nepalese Embassy in Paris, supporting official crews dispatched from Nepal and helping coordinate services for the local Nepali population.
Beyond his formal roles, Shyam Shrestha serves as an advisor to several cultural and advocacy organizations, including the Newa Organization and NEFIN Portugal – Nepal Aadibasi Janajati Mahasangh Portugal . Through these roles, he continues to champion community-building initiatives and inclusive policies that uplift marginalized voices.
